Take to the Skies Scholarship – $5,000 for any Ninety-Nines member towards a private pilot certificate

Fostering the Future Scholarship – $1,000 for a GAFB Chapter member towards any certificate or rating 

Southern Skies Scholarship – $2,500 for a SE Section member towards any certificate or rating 

The Georgia Flying Belles Chapter of The Ninety-Nines is offering three scholarships in furtherance of flight training in spring 2026, with a fourth to open in the fall. The fall scholarship will be for training towards a private pilot certificate.  Applicants may apply to any and all scholarships for which they qualify. 

1. Eligibility: The Take to the Skies Scholarship is open to all Ninety-Nines members.  The Fostering the Future Scholarship is open only to active Georgia Flying Belles Chapter members. The Southern Skies Scholarship is open to Southeast Section members with the support of their respective Chapter Board, including those members of the Georgia Flying Belles Chapter. All applicants must be current members per the The Ninety-Nines, Inc. international directory at the time of submitting their scholarship applications unless otherwise stated in the special conditions for a specific scholarship. 

2. Application submission: Please submit your information and all attachments through this Google Form. Completed applications must be received by 11:59PM EDT on Thursday, April 30, 2026. 

Scholarship application requirements: 

▢ 2 letters of recommendation (one personal, one professional;  aviation-related is highly preferred). 

▢ Copy of your passport and/or driver’s license as proof of citizenship or residency. Please include both sides, if applicable. 

▢ Copies of all aviation certificates, including medical certificate. Please include both sides.

▢ Resume, not to exceed one page.

▢ Copy of the last two pages of your pilot logbook.

▢ Typed, descriptive essay not to exceed one page (see #3 for content requirements).

3. Essay: Please include an essay of one page or less addressing the following: (1) Tell us about yourself, your activities in aviation, and your participation in The Ninety-Nines, to include what you feel uniquely qualifies you for the scholarship(s) for which you are applying; (2) Your goals in aviation and what you have accomplished in pursuit of these goals thus far; (3) How the scholarship(s) will support your advancement towards these goals; (4) How you have financed your training so far, if applicable, and your need for financial assistance going forward; (5) How awarding the scholarship(s) to you will benefit The Ninety-Nines and aviation community, including, but not limited to, mentorship opportunities; (6) The flight school you plan on using, as well as the instructor’s name and contact information; (7) Additional information applicable to the specific scholarship as detailed in the application form. 

4. Scholarship winners will be notified on or before May 31, 2026. 

5. All award money will be paid to the training institution or flight instructor. All training must be completed by May 31, 2027. Progress reports may be requested by the scholarship donor. 

6. Each scholarship is offered by an individual, organization or committee (collectively, the “scholarship donor”). The scholarship donor makes the final decision on the recipient of their scholarship. The Ninety-Nines, Inc. is in no manner responsible for scholarship award decisions or the administration of the scholarship funds. 

7. Neither The Ninety-Nines, Inc. nor their members, agents, or representatives, are responsible for the quality of any training received with this scholarship, nor for any accident, incident, or any other event that may occur while the recipient of this scholarship is performing flight training or activities relating thereto.
